CHRIS RYDER WINS BYMAC LEINSTER OPEN

England’s Chris Ryder clinched the Bymac Leinster Open title after defeating Jorge Isaac Baltazar of Mexico 11-3 9-11 11-5 9-11 15-11 in the event held at the Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club in Dublin, Ireland.

Right from the outset, nothing could separate the players with the quality of play matching the high pace throughout. Ryder, the 28-year-old world No33 from Wolverhampton, let a 9-3 lead slip in the decider as the gritty Baltazar Ferreira, the second seed, took it right down to the wire with Ryder eventually winning the deciding game 15-13 and with it the Bymac Leinster Open title.

The success marks the fourth PSA Tour title of Ryder's career - but his first this year.
