CHRIS SIMPSON WINS SERVUS CREDIT UNION EDMONTON OPEN

The 21-year-old from the English Channel Island of Guernsey reached the final after battling for five games to beat Gilly Lane, the No.7 seed from the USA, 11-7 5-11 9-11 11-4 11-5.
 
After making semi-finals following an upset over third seed Ryan Cuskelly, local hero Giuffre continued his giant-killing run by ousting Hungarian favourite Mark Krajcsak in the other semi.
 
But Simpson was too strong for the sixth seed from Edmonton to win the second PSA Tour title of his life.

Chris Simpson, the fourth seed from England, won the inaugural Servus Credit Union Edmonton Open after beating local hero Matthew Giuffre 11-8 11-9 11-5 in the final of the $10,000 PSA Tour squash event at the Royal Glenora Club in Edmonton, in Alberta, Canada.
